  2. You will be able to enroll your eligible debit cards to your Samsung device. Samsung Pay uses tokenization so no real card numbers are stored on the device or used for payments. Payments will be made using Near Field Communication (NFC) contactless payments or Magnetic Secure Transmission. For more information on Samsung Pay, please visit Samsung's official site at http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/samsung-pay.

  3. MST is the technology that allows the phone to be used for contactless payments even at magnetic stripe terminals. It creates a magnetic field to communicate card information to the terminal as if a card was being swiped - but through a tap of the phone. This allows Samsung Pay to be accepted at nearly all merchant terminals. 4. The Samsung app is installed on the phone. Once installed, you will register your fingerprint on the device. The camera will launch so that you can scan your debit card. After validation of your card number, name and expiration date, the app will need to verify the card by sending a text message or email from the card issuer. 5. Samsung has a lock screen that has a swipe up from the small Samsung Pay bar just above the home button. Once you have verified your fingerprint, hold the back of the phone against the payment terminal.  Once the payment is made, you will get a notification that confirms the merchant name and the amount of your purchase. This information will also appear in the Samsung Pay app. For more information on Samsung Pay, please visit Samsung's official site at http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/samsung-pay.

  6. Samsung Pay does not store card numbers on your device, instead using a security token for your payment transactions.  Each time a purchase is made, Samsung Pay sends a token that represents your debit card number along with a one-time code that is generated by the phone. 7. Samsung Payments can't be made from your phone without being authorized via fingerprint or the PIN chosen during the setup process. If you register your device with Samsung's Find My Mobile service, you will be able to remotely erase information on the phone, including any cards stored in Samsung Pay. 8. Samsung Pay will work with most point of sale terminal systems. Samsung Pay uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to process payments at tap-to-pay terminals.  Samsung Pay can also be used at almost all magnetic stripe terminals. Samsung Pay’s Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology is used when your phone is held against one of these terminals. Your mobile phone produces a signal that simulates the magnetic strip found on the back of your debit card.

Samsung Pay will not work with card readers where you need to physically insert your card into a slot such as those found at gasoline stations and on ATM machines.

  9. Yes, merchants may require you to hold the phone against the payment terminal in the same way as when you make a payment to process a return.
